Interesting or nice about this vacancy

Do you enjoy working with a group of people? Can you inspire, motivate, and connect people? And would you enjoy engaging in conversations with people about tips and tricks regarding money? Then this vacancy is definitely for you!

  • You will learn more about guiding groups.
  • You receive training and are coached throughout the entire period.
  • You help other people become more socially and financially resilient.
  • You expand your network and develop yourself.

Tasks and duties

What is a savings circle?

Savings circles are self-help groups in which members learn from one another how to manage money, themselves, and each other well. Each participant sets a goal in advance for which they will save. During regular meetings, group members contribute an amount that can vary per member and per meeting. After a period of approximately 9 months, each member receives their savings back. However, the savings circle is about much more than just saving: it is also, and perhaps primarily, about motivating and inspiring one another and exchanging experiences.

What does the savings circle facilitator do?

As a savings circle facilitator, you help set up the savings circle. Within the savings circle, you assist with making agreements, dividing tasks, and discussing matters that are important to the members. You facilitate a savings circle for at least one period of approximately 9 months and ensure that it runs smoothly.

Skills and qualities

  • You are good at interacting and talking with people, you are a good listener and can make clear agreements.
  • In addition, you stick to agreements, you can create a pleasant atmosphere, and you enjoy taking the lead in a group.
  • Furthermore, you speak, read, and write in (simple) Dutch. It is also important that you enjoy doing simple calculations: addition and subtraction, with or without a calculator.

Additional information

Before you start your savings circle, you will receive training consisting of 2 or 3 days. At the start of your savings circle, and also afterwards during the guidance, we help and coach you.

In addition, you will receive a volunteer contract. Your expenses will be reimbursed and you will receive a volunteer allowance. And after the savings circle period, if you have successfully guided a group, you will receive a certificate. That certificate can help you when you want to guide new savings circles or if you want to find other work.

We always start with an introductory meeting to see if we click.
