You coordinate the social activation project Daadkracht met Draadkracht. A place for women who enjoy working with textiles together with others.
Help women grow with creativity, connection, and textiles
Step into our workshop and you hear the rattling of sewing machines, see women working on a project together, and notice at least as much chatting as sewing. There is learning, laughing, helping, and creating.
For this special place, we are looking for a volunteer who enjoys connecting people, maintaining an overview, and working with others to further shape a social and creative project.
What is Daadkracht met Draadkracht?
Daadkracht met Draadkracht (DmD) is a social activation project by Studio Draadkracht for women who are in need of meeting others, connection, and a meaningful way to spend their time.
Every week, participants gather to work with textiles together. They learn new skills, discover their talents, meet others, and work on their self-confidence. Under the guidance of volunteers, they create products for Studio Draadkracht, for external clients, or for themselves.
At DmD, it is not just about sewing and textiles. It is primarily about participating, developing yourself, and being part of a group.
What are you going to do?
As a coordinator, you are the connecting link within the project. You ensure that participants, supervisors, and partners know how to find each other and that everything runs smoothly.
You:
- supports, motivates, and inspires the volunteer supervisors;
- thinks about new products and assignments together with participants and supervisors;
- maintains an overview of the project organization;
- maintains contact with social organizations that refer women to DmD;
- conducts intake interviews with new participants and their supervisors, if necessary;
- maintains contact with companies and organizations that wish to have sewing orders carried out or purchase products from DmD;
- helps raise awareness of DmD through social media, news reports, and other PR activities;
- consults regularly with the board regarding the progress and development of the project;
- steps in occasionally as a supervisor when needed.
Who are we looking for?
You don't need to be a professional care provider. We are primarily looking for someone who knows how to inspire people and enjoys building something together.
You:
- have at least an MBO working and thinking level;
- have experience with sewing and textile techniques or training in that field;
- have an affinity with women who are in need of meeting, support, or activation;
- are social, have strong communication skills, and are patient;
- enjoys motivating people and connecting them;
- are creative and think in possibilities;
- are good at organizing and maintaining an overview;
- takes initiative and likes to get things done;
- enjoys collaborating.
