Tasks and duties
Stichting WelMobiel is active in the districts of Vinkhuizen, Lewenborg, Beijum, Hoogkerk, Oosterparkwijk, and adjacent districts.
We drive door-to-door in the neighborhood with electric cars and ensure that residents can once again actively participate in community life. This includes grocery shopping, visiting friends, but also going independently to the doctor, physiotherapy, and/or day care. Our clients are primarily the elderly or people with mobility needs who can no longer do so independently.
Due to the increasing demand for our services, we are looking for new drivers.
If you identify with the following, please contact us so we can get acquainted and discuss the possibilities:
- You primarily transport people, including children going from the COA to their primary school.
- You are available for approximately 16 hours per week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Your workday starts with a run at 8:00 AM and ends around 3:30 PM.
It is possible that the onboarding will take place in a different neighborhood than where you are deployed.
Skills and qualities
- You are a social person.
- You are customer-friendly.
- You are in possession of a B driving license.
- You are mobile (we help customers get in and out, but we are also happy to carry a shopping bag).
- You speak Dutch well enough to make yourself understood.
- You are available for flexible deployment (working according to a schedule).
- You possess a good sense of humor (we enjoy our work).
- You can provide a Certificate of Conduct upon request.
Additional information
You will receive a great deal of appreciation from the target group, who currently often do not come into contact with others. Due to your social role as a driver, we expect you to be the eyes and ears of the neighborhood. Should you notice that users are unable to find their way themselves, you will report this to your supervisor so that the neighborhood can intervene. Your input is of great value to the collaborating parties in the neighborhood.

Stichting WelMobiel is actief in de wijken Vinkhuizen, Lewenborg, Beijum, Oosterparkwijk, Hoogkerk, Korrewegwijk-De Hoogte en aangrenzende wijken. Tevens hebben wij in samenwerking met het Groninger Museum een project lopen tegen eenzaamheid De Museumshuttle. Daarvoor hebben wij een personenbus met rolstoellift waar we deelnemers vanuit zowel de stad als de provicie Groningen ophalen en weer thuis brengen.
