Tasks and duties

Who are we

The Humanist Association Groningen Branch is a local branch of the Humanist

Covenant. With a core group of volunteers, we organize lectures, meetings, and

meetings where our members and interested parties can talk to each other about

subjects that are close to our hearts. You can come to us for meaning, conversation

and humanist content. In addition, we program courses and in-depth days that

are offered by the National Office of the Humanist Association. The Board

of the department monitors the finances, manages communication, and collaborates with others

philosophical organizations to propagate humanist thought.

Job description

As chair of our chapter, you are the one who places humanism at the center of our

to act. You are responsible for chairing the board meetings, the

Coordinating activities and representing the department to external parties.

It would be nice if you could develop a vision for the future of our department.

Tasks and responsibilities

Chairing board meetings and gatherings

Maintain contact with members, volunteers, and external partners

Fulfilling your chairmanship in a way that suits you

We ask

You are a humanist, and already a member or willing to become a member of the Humanist Association.

Good communication skills

You have a proactive and connecting personality.

You preferably have previous work experience in a volunteer organization.

We meet once a month in the evening. In addition, we see each other regularly at

meetings. You can expect a minimum time commitment within your chairperson role of

half a day a week.

It is possible to shadow first before deciding whether this role suits you.

Skills and qualities
