Would you enjoy rolling up your sleeves in our thrift store in Groningen? Do you have a keen eye and know exactly how best to set up a shop? Do you want to contribute to a circular Netherlands while simultaneously helping children grow out of poverty in a sustainable way? Are you willing to dedicate at least four hours a week to a good cause? Then you are very welcome as a volunteer in our store!
In our store, you will find departments including clothing, household, decoration, toys, electronics, and books.
Tasks and duties
- You prepare items brought in for display in the store.
- You keep your department neat and organized.
- Together with others, you come up with ideas on how your department can become even better.
- You ensure that unsaleable items end up in the correct waste stream.
Skills and qualities
- You have a sense of style and know how to present items in the store as attractively as possible.
- You enjoy surprising our customers with new thrift store treasures during their visit.
- You can apply the pricing policy to products entered for sale.
- You enjoy being part of a team, but can also work well independently.
- You derive pleasure from having contact with other people.

We are a thrift store where, together with other Red een Kind thrift stores, the net proceeds go to a charitable cause. The objective is to help children grow out of poverty. We do this in developing countries such as Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, among others. Sustainable emergency aid is provided in the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, and Somalia. A combination of both is provided in Malawi and Burundi.
In addition, we aim to contribute to a circular economy through the reuse of donated items.
