Do you want to play an important role in the management and preservation of a unique nature reserve in the city?
Stichting LeRoy Groningen is seeking a Green Management Officer to assist with the overview and management of the tree population in the LeRoy area: over 6 hectares of open urban nature in Lewenborg.
You will play an active role in the management of a unique and dynamic nature reserve that runs through the neighborhood. You will work together with volunteers, residents, and the municipality, and contribute directly to the preservation and development of the area.
The work is flexible and largely self-scheduled. Additionally, you will be part of a committed and informal group of volunteers, with opportunities for socializing and joint activities.
Tasks and duties
- Monitoring and maintaining the tree population in the LeRoy area
- Responding to questions, reports, and requests from residents
- Inspection of trees in consultation with the municipality
- Apply for felling permits where necessary
- Organizing and (having) carrying out work following granted permits
- Coordinating volunteers during execution
- Organizing replanting and fulfilling the replanting obligation
Skills and qualities
- Interested in green management, trees, and nature
- Responsible and careful
- Communicatively skilled (contact with residents and the municipality)
- Organizational capacity
- Some knowledge of green management is nice, but not required.
