Interesting or nice about this vacancy

You engage in conversations with people based on your own story. In this way, you can share something with others about what it is like to flee. You speak to many people from different walks of life, and you teach them something. Your experience can open someone else's eyes to prevent discrimination. Stereotypes and prejudices are reduced in this way.

Tasks and duties

For our workshop/guest lecture 'Refugee', we are looking for people who have fled to the Netherlands themselves.

Together with a professional presenter, you will visit schools of all levels. This could be a primary school, but also a secondary vocational education (MBO) or higher professional education (HBO). Based on an introduction to the topic and questions the students will ask you, you will engage in a conversation.

Skills and qualities

Being able to clearly share your experience , but also being able to listen attentively to what the students are asking. Conversation skills are paramount, but you are never alone. Our staff guide the conversation and provide guidance if necessary. It is also possible to receive training and observe other volunteers beforehand.
