Tasks and duties
We organize supervision and shelter for bicycles, the most used mode of urban transport in the city of Groningen. We manage many different parking facilities and therefore have many different workplaces and types of work to offer.
- Replace fallen bicycles, arrange bicycles in rows, install temporary bicycle parking spaces (markings).
- Addressing cyclists in a polite and customer-friendly manner regarding their improperly parked bicycles.
- Inform cyclists and direct them to parking options.
- In conversation with city centre entrepreneurs about bottlenecks and solutions.
- Identifying unsafe traffic situations in the city center caused by bicycle nuisance.
- You have some command of Dutch.
Skills and qualities
- You know what customer friendliness means; you understand that you must be able to be customer-friendly in your work. If you struggle with difficult customers, we might be able to support you with some training in that area.
- You wear work clothing because the urban environment wants to be able to recognize you. (We also provide you with that clothing).
- We would like to be able to rely on your presence, so if you have trouble arriving on time, you will need to shadow a colleague for a while first.
- You walk and move a lot during your work; you must be physically capable of doing so.
- For a participation job, you are available for at least 16 hours per week.

There are many possibilities. It starts with you wanting to do something. If, during our conversations, it turns out that a workplace with the bicycle stewards is not suitable, we can also discuss a better place for you, either within or outside WerkPro.
