Wijkoverleg Vinkhuizen is the residents' organization for the Vinkhuizen neighborhood and has the following goals:
- To represent the interests of all residents of Vinkhuizen with government organizations.
- Promoting cohesion in the neighborhood by supporting neighborhood and district activities.
- To inform the residents about news and plans relating to Vinkhuizen.
This position offers you involvement in the neighborhood and insight into the needs of the residents. Additionally, it is enjoyable to help decide on the incoming applications.
Tasks and duties
Twice a year, residents' initiatives can apply to the neighborhood fund for a budget of up to 500 euros per application. This will take place in April and October. For each round, we ask for at least 5 volunteers from the neighborhood who are willing to help decide whether the applications meet the requirements and/or are feasible. Additionally, choices will have to be made if there are too many applications.
If you sign up, we may ask you if you would like to help decide. This will therefore be a maximum of twice a year. Of course, this can also be done in combination with the other committees for which we are seeking volunteers.

Wijkoverleg Vinkhuizen (WOV) is de bewonersorganisatie van Vinkhuizen. Zij behartigt de belangen van alle inwoners van Vinkhuizen bij de gemeente, waterschap en andere overheden. WOV organiseert en steunt daarnaast activiteiten in de wijk . Een belangrijke taak is de mensen in Vinkhuizen op de hoogte houden van wat er zoal speelt. Dat gebeurt via de website en de pagina Op ’t Vinkentouw in de Westerkrant. De gemeente Groningen vindt bewonersorganisaties belangrijk. WOV is de officiële gesprekspartner van de gemeente. De gemeente ondersteunt WOV met een structurele subsidie die is bedoeld voor communicatie en activering.
