Interesting or nice about this vacancy
As a volunteer digital staff member for the AIC Groningen, you help shape the public perception of autism. Because knowledge about autism has fortunately changed, and we can now—and above all want to—speak about neurodiversity, your role in this is a shining example. Normalizing instead of problematizing, and viewing autism as a different developmental path rather than a disorder-centric mindset. You can make a difference in this as the digital face of the AIC Groningen. As a volunteer at the AIC, you will join a close-knit and committed team. There is room for your own input and ample opportunity for professional development by attending relevant webinars and/or in-person meetings. Because we work with both people with and without autism within our team, you will find yourself in a dynamic environment where you can learn a great deal. However, it is a plus if you are part of our core team (organizing, arranging, initiating) or executive team (Afspraakmorgen, Auticafe, Theme Evenings).

Tasks and duties
As a volunteer at AIC Groningen, you have experience with autism and an affinity for it, and are able to compile and share current developments regarding autism weekly via our AIC Facebook page. Furthermore, you know how to strike the right tone when collaborating with other organizations as a representative of AIC Groningen on the digital web. We represent the interests of everyone affected by autism, without bias or profit motive. Important: words like "disorder" or "ASD"? We acknowledge, view, and experience autism as: a natural variation on the human spectrum.
In addition to our AIC Facebook, we also have our AIC Mailchimp, through which we send an email almost monthly for our Afspraakmorgen and Auticafe, and email about our Theme Evening several times a year. Formatting representative text and images is an important part of your work in this regard.
Skills and qualities
The necessary skills and qualities we are looking for in you are: creativity, the ability to work independently but also as part of a team and sometimes with other parties. This does not always have to be in person and can often take place online. You know how to find relevant and up-to-date information about autism. You are also familiar with working with Facebook and Mailchimp. You also have an affinity for working with digital programs such as Photoshop. You enjoy getting to the core of a story and translating this into words and images.
Additional information
Could you be the one to strengthen our AIC team? Then we would love to read your email! Preferably with a brief motivation, but you can always just email us if you are interested. Or if you have any (additional) questions and/or comments. Our email address is: aic_groningen@live.nl. We will then contact you. Usually within 1 week, but often excluding school holidays. Thank you for reading our vacancy, you are welcome!
