We are a dynamic volunteer organization in the heart of Vries with a wide range of activities.
Every week, more than 100 volunteers participate in various activities: studios, the garden, the kitchen, the herb workshop, workshops, and in the office. These are people of different ages, cultures, and backgrounds: from those fully engaged in life, those afflicted by health issues, and newcomers to people who, for whatever reason, rarely socialized; together, we form a warm community. Plaats de Wereld is a volunteer organization and operates thanks to the dedication of all these people. To manage this effectively, a major role is reserved for the volunteer coordination team, led by a professional internal affairs coordinator.

Within the volunteer coordination team, which is currently staffed by 5 volunteer coordinators and managed by a professional, the recruitment and selection of new volunteers is carried out. This also includes caring for existing volunteers and designing the necessary administrative processes.

Tasks and duties

Who are we looking for?

• The most important thing is that you have passion and interest in people (with different cultural backgrounds).
• You are communicative, meticulous, and make contact easily.
• You are enthusiastic about Plaats de Wereld's vision that everyone can make a meaningful contribution.
• You are organized, enjoy dynamism, and are resourceful.
• Computer skills for maintaining simple administrative processes are a plus.
• You are willing to focus specifically on the recruitment of volunteers or the guidance of asylum seekers/status holders.

Skills and qualities

We are looking for a volunteer who:

• Is enthusiastic about the vision and objective of Plaats de Wereld.
• Has a practical mindset and can work independently.
• Is skilled in communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is a team player.
• Can function independently and is proactive.
• Can get along well with all kinds of different people.
• Is available for at least 2 half-days per month. Preferably on afternoons between 13:00 and 17:00.
